#unpopularopinion I used to work at a small party supply store. You could get anything you could think of. It was a great store. If they didn’t have it, they could order it.
But the owner would get incredibly upset about anyone shopping at Walmart. Saying they were depriving him of the livelihood for his family.
You’d think we, a business that is a supporter of other small business successes, might share this opinion. However, I think pivoting to fill a need and provide a different value is a better attitude towards the Walmart/Amazon fight.
Also, did you know you can look for small businesses via Amazon??? Did you know there are people who run Amazon shops who rely on it for their livelihood?
Don’t hate on efficiency solving a problem. Be a small business that is innovative and responsive to the market. Those are the small businesses who are going to succeed.

And as time progressed, I’d encourage them to meet the market where they’re at. Create your own e-commerce solution! Pick up in store or shipped to their house!
There’s always solutions, just need to have the know-how and resources/coaching in how to pivot.
